If this is the first ramble you are reading, then know that this is my emotional release of my "confession" time. I like to type openly about what's going on with very little filter. With that being said, it's mid-August and I wanted to put some thoughts out so people know where we are, and what I am hoping for.

First, I want to acknowledge that I promoted @Lymmie to admin yesterday. He has put his heart and soul into TMF and for that, I am very thankful to have members like him. This project has never been about money, but rather, passion. This is a highly personal project that I want to share with the world. I can only hope that there will be others that I can promote into roles.

    3 Sites
We are embarking on another site in the family of websites. This makes the total 3 now. What sites?

Each has its own purpose and goals. I could mash them all into one site, but they are all really different and I am hoping to bring something unique to the table. Plus it's just more content and hopefully more variety in what fits your type of environment. They all take the time to build, and each day we add a bit more. Just here on TMF I have well over 1,000 hours put in to make this what it is. You can't see most of it because it's in the backend, but the mods and admins do.

Ted's Marijuana will be a work in progress, always. We will come up with quizzes and surveys as we can brainstorm them. It would be great to collect statistics and share them with everyone. Plus the events gives people, organizations, and businesses a place to push their happenings. This is a very simple project that isn't meant to blow the doors off of the marijuana industry.

This community is meant to be all-inclusive and really have all the bells and whistles of a community/social media platform. It's not as instagrammy as Mass Roots because I couldn't do everything I built in a format like that. This community will be getting a massive upgrade in a month or two with new functions and a refined backend for speed and looks. I am very excited for this to happen and I will be talking about it more as we get closer to the upgrade. Hopefully, you will enjoy it as much as I will.

Ted's MJ is the newest and is being built for close to real-time communication. It will have a full-blown chat, unlike the simple chat we have here at TMF. We will be using NodeBB as the forum too. This will allow us to try out a new format for our second community. I know that many will not want to be a part of 2 communities, but hopefully, you will find 1 that "gets it right" for your taste. It allows me to try a new format, technology, and see what works. I didn't want to overall this community just to try out a few new things so it made more sense to build Ted's MJ instead.

    Personal Update
My health is a bit better. Managing depression, massive career change, and living in a different country is overwhelming. My medical issues didn't help either, but I am trying to get it under control and get back on the horse. I am not on here every day, but I try to be. This is a passion for me and I want this to succeed. I am human like the next handsome dude, but sometimes we just need to take a knee and regroup.

Lymmie and others stepped up to fill in when I couldn't be here. That gave me the motivation to figure out how I can overcome my issues and find my way back. I owe a lot to him, Cudzu, Lite, and the others that gave me some inspiration. It made me feel like I have some friends to lean on and not just some usernames with something nice to say.

A Trip In the Near Future
I need some US in my life, and specifically, some Chilis, Arby's, BWW, and more in my stomach. I plan on going back over the ocean and across the US to NH in Jan-Feb to spend some time smoking some joints with my brother and trying some CBD oil. If some of you are in the New England area and want to meet up I am willing to see as many folks as possible. I will be back later in 2018 to see everyone in the NC, SC, GA, FL, AL area. I have to make it out to smoke a J with Lymmie too. He is out of all of the areas I plan on visiting so I will work it out.

If you want to meet up and have a garden to show me or something else you are working on then let me know. I want to meet and greet with people if possible. I want to take a shitload of pics too with my camera and make a bunch of YouTube videos. Like a giant flip book of everyone I meet and every garden I walk. I want to see it all and I want to be high with as many strains as possible. I am really excited to see how the trips go.

    Social Media, Spreading the Word
I pulled back from social media at the beginning of the year. I had to with my transition to working from home. Nikki went on to work for a friend of mine and she was instrumental in getting us to where we are on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Unfortunately, I hate social media, but I know why it's important. I just never have the time for it so it's been fairly quiet on social channels. I need to do it more, but I have to spend the time where it is important.

Facebook sucks because everyone uses their real name and most people don't participate in the marijuana topics like they do elsewhere. I have found very little incentive to spend my time on FB promoting the community/brand. Twitter is great and very interactive. The problem with Twitter is that it doesn't really convert because the platform moves very quick and people don't click off to hang out in another community. Tumblr doesn't convert at all, at least not yet, but I love it for the GIF porn. I mean, who doesn't?

Google+ has actually been amazing. We are creeping up towards 1200 members in our community there. I never expected it but it is really a golden example of where social pays off. Instagram is still promising too, but I don't have a lot of content to post there. I need to make this more of a priority and I will soon enough.

Social is awesome and I do hope that as the community here grows, people will be inclined to want to pitch in and help manage some of our pages on platforms. That would be cool, but I don't want to get my hopes up. If you have thoughts or questions about this area please feel free to let me know.

    Last Thoughts
Overall, it's a slow year, but that's okay. Not every year can be amazing, and no one is throwing in the towel. People will always come and go, but I hope the core group of folks will stick around and watch us take on new goals and bring new folks in. This is an awesome chance to make something amazing out of this. I have high hopes and I want to keep pushing forward!

The last thing I want to say is that a priority of mine is quality content. I want to add more content to the wiki and really write information that people want to read and talk about. I invite you to contribute if you have the want and ability to do so.
